Colour — Light — Movement, most of all, colourThere is always a picture – everywhere I go , to record, emphasize in my memory to be created, expressed later on. There is always a reflection — a pattern of light and colour, a gesture. There is always moment — an atmosphere, a feeling. I try to achieve these things in my handmade paper images – observe, record, but never copy, as I put myself and feelings in to the image. I work in a wet medium – everything flows: colours flow into each other even when I think they shouldn’t — it does what it wants. Then my ideas flow and change into something new. It’s a medium of transformation. The process of creating a paper image takes time and requires a lot of patience, and, of course, there are always surprises when the final product is freed from the drying stack. It is Magic.
